Detox Drinks For Cleansing & Weight Loss

While the body does have it’s own natural detox process it often takes on trouble through exposure to pollutants, heavy metals, preservatives, and pesticides. Once in the body, toxins are stored in our cells and tissues. This process can then manifest harmful effects on the body and other health concerns. 

 

Detoxing the body promotes overall body health and functions, while also allowing vital organs to cleanse themselves, allowing the liver to function properly.

Detox drinks are so simple to make — there are a number of fruits, vegetables and herbs that can easily be added to water or tea for an easy detox beverage.  Here are few detox water drinks you can make at home:

 

Ginger & Lemon Morning Detox Water

 

Ingredients

 

3 cups boiling water

1 lemon cut into slices

1-inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and sliced

1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric

2 teaspoons honey (optional)

 

Instructions

 

Bring the water to a boil.

Turn the heat off and add the lemon, ginger and turmeric.

Let steep for 30 minutes.

Strain and drink at room temperature

 

 

Apple, Cinnamon & Honey infused Water

 

 

Ingredients

 

2 apples, core removed, cut in thin slices

2 tsp organic raw honey

4 cinnamon sticks

4 cups pure/tap water

Ice cubes, to serve

 

Instructions

 

In a large pitcher, add all ingredients, cover with a plastic foil and let infuse overnight.

Add ice cubes and serve.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Cucumber & Citrus Mint Detox Water

 

 

Ingredients

 

4 limes, cut in thin slices

1 sliced cucumber

2 lemons, cut in thin slices

1 handful fresh mint

4 cups pure/tap water

Ice cubes, to serve

 

Instructions

 

In a large pitcher, add all ingredients, cover with a plastic foil and let infuse overnight.

Add ice cubes and serve

 

 

 

Grapefruit & Apple Cider Vinegar Detox Water

 

Ingredients

 

2 red grapefruits, cut in thin slices

2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

4 cups pure tap water

Ice cubes, to serve

 

Instructions

 

In a large pitcher, add all ingredients, cover with a plastic foil and let infuse overnight.

Add ice cubes and serve.
